 Democracy is just a word

Democracy is just a word

By

James Bredin

We are no more than a TV audience, who clap and laugh on cue,

Apathetic reaction to their laugh track while changes are overdue,

Can’t have binding referendums or political recall because,

They refuse, delay and stall and say it’s not part of our laws.

They fast track along their tax and spend hidden agenda,

Where secrets and publication bans are accepted propaganda,

Where secretive traveling politicians avoid common sense,

We are taught to accept their extravagance as capital expense.

The daily pictures in the papers are a mighty strange sign,

Eight soldiers carrying a coffin while others salute in a line,

Public opinion being directed about some far-away war,

Something is strange here that we should not just try to ignore.

I’m not sure what we are fighting about and neither are you,

You are not allowed to think that maybe things are askew,

And eventually we’ll pull out because it’s in the cards,

The history of that place is invaders who leave and disregard.

Our problem is ourselves while we are looking in the mirror,

Our obligation to change the system doesn’t get any clearer,

Why not political recall and binding referendums now?

We have no control over our future and they just won’t allow.

 The poor refugee claimant

The poor refugee claimant

By

James Bredin

There are indeed poor worthy international refugees,

And normal people everywhere are inclined to agree,

But there are many others, who use the refugee cause,

To avoid criminal responsibility using UN flaws.

The war-crimes refugee claimants might be abused over there,

Our sanctimonious apathetic appointees always seem to care,

Not about how the Canadian justice system is viewed,

But how our international Charter of Rights can be screwed.

That and goody-two-shoe politicians with their global cause,

Whose appointees delay all decisions with a long pause,

For years and years that allow the illegal terrorists to stay,

Maybe increase their criminal record and never go away.

These criminal terrorists in Canada seem to have it made,

So few get deported and we are the people being betrayed?

And you can’t ask this elitist secretive judicial crowd,

-- No binding referendums nor political recalls allowed.

And the distant removal risk assessment has to be done,

That plus the twenty layers of legal-aid appeals just begun,

And this could take years as legal-aid lawyers all agree,

We may never watch a conclusion to this on TV.

 Dental Chair

Dental Chair

By

James Bredin

Spent two hours in a dental chair and what an awful task,

He murmured to his assistant through a white gauze face mask,

And she behind my head making noise with a little machine,

That plus the screaming drill in my mouth boring my teeth clean.

Can’t close down my brain from these awful dental toys,

As the curved hose under my tongue makes a snorting noise,

Looking at the white ceiling where there is nothing to see,

And still he drills and pokes and bends and I can’t disagree.

I’m forced to ask myself if this is worth all the awful stress,

To look like one of those celebrities pictured in the press,

With a full mouth of shiny white teeth as they force a smile,

Pretending that this is just is normal all the while.

Our soft-on-crime system is off the wheels

Our Soft-on-Crime System is off the Wheels

By

James Bredin

Our soft-on-crime judge appointees are a complete disgrace,

But few left-wing media outlets will show that this is the case,

And only a few criminal war-crime guys are ever deported,

And most of their stuff is not even known or reported.

Our soft-on-crime judges let them loose from their chains in the dock,

As they demand free and easy bail, they’re allowed to walk,

They say we deserve the politicians and judges we get,

There are no guarantees in life so we may as well forget,

But the criminal was on bail for thirteen other crimes,

And the justice of the peace let him walk one more time,

So their soft-on-crime easy-bail system still today persists,

And no one, absolutely no one is allowed to contradict.

Because criminals have rights to be presumed so innocent,

And Trudeau’s Charter of Rights is still considered magnificent,

As these criminals go out to steal, rob, kill and stab again,

Has the system come off the wheels in their left wing campaign?

The public trained to be as apathetic as slaughter-house sheep,

In gridlock traffic everywhere and told to go back to sleep,

Our goody-two-shoe politicians are going to raise their pay,

And you dear indifferent friend have nothing to say.

 Pompous Toronto Panhandlers

Pompous Toronto Panhandlers

By

James Bredin

Homeless, unwashed, unclean antagonistic itinerants,

Hobos, tramps, drifters, loud mouths in their litany rants,

Some streets and corners are now dangerous violent places,

Aggressive types claim rights and they do it right in our faces.

Our abhorrent left-wing goody-two-shoe tolerant politicians,

Seem to have missed the boat and cannot recognize these conditions,

Cannot pass a law that will send panhandlers straight to jail,

Because the Safe Streets Act seems flawed and allows panhandlers on bail.

And to hell with their logic and so called left wing common sense,

We are the people and we need safe streets and we’re not dense,

We need referendums and recall and not their hidden agenda,

Opinions moulded by talking heads and their media propaganda.
