Quit the UN now

By

James Bredin

Lets stand on our own feet and resign from the UN now,

Mostly tyrant despot dictators which strange UN rules allow,

It’s costing too much money, not counting their foreign aid,

Canada should pull out tomorrow and forget this masquerade.

And our pompous politicians will have to stay at home,

Isn’t that just too bad because they like so much to roam,

And Saddam’s oil for food scandal has all but disappeared,

They want to hang him now, not because he interfered.

As our media feeds us constant left-wing UN propaganda,

To keep us on their right left track and their UN agenda,

They want us in Africa to stop aids and genocide there,

We can still stay in Afghanistan though, on a wing and a prayer.

 Unwed Welfare Mothers

Unwed Welfare Mothers

By

James Bredin

Our system encourages women to be unwed mothers,

With a career in the ghetto to make babies like many others,

With at least eight kids, friends and countless relatives galore,

No need for husbands who might want to work in order to score.

Lifetime carefree career with free apartment and no rent,

No parking, security or hydro problems to torment,

And lots of boyfriends to help make even more welfare babies,

Enlarge the welfare check for these single welfare ladies.

In the world of political correctness this can’t be brought up,

Though we get the communist media party line daily closeup,

From our left wing newspapers with their UN propaganda,

We should be in Africa soon according to their agenda.

And welfare daughters of course all grow up to know the score,

As soon as they get pregnant, no need for school no more,

They only need welfare workers to guide her on their way,

To join their mothers and the others for lifetime of welfare pay.

 Canadian Crime

Canadian Crime

By

James Bredin

The main witness to the double murder could not be found,

He too was wanted but had somehow decided to leave town,

The others were inclined to kill each other often and fast,

Common denominator single mothers and ghetto past.

So the double murder charges all had to be stayed,

And four maybe hitmen walked away but they were not dismayed,

Released back into the ghetto and ready to kill once more,

Except this time kill the witness too – not like before.

Where soft on crime appointed judges strutted their stuff,

Political appointees for life and no need to be tough,

Legal aid lawyers with their double gobbledegook talk,

Just open the prison gates and let the prisoners all walk.

 War torn places in Africa

War Torn Places in Africa

By

James Bredin

It seems they have the occasional blood bath over there,

Religion, political turmoil, tribal faction when they dare,

Rwanda type genocide with maybe a million or more dead,

Where nothing makes sense and half the population has fled.

It seems to be an annual event that no one can fix,

Add in an aids plague and famine where the AK47s click,

Insert some oil wells, despot dictators with their agenda,

Then add in left-wing newspapers with UN propaganda.

Some want our peacekeeping soldiers there but some others don’t,

No one seems to know which group of oddballs is in the forefront,

But we might pretend that we’re like missionaries of old,

With a message about democracy that needs to be told.

Everything would be peaceful and no need for guns or threats,

Our pompous politicians at the UN, could all cool their jets,

If you believe this poem, you are more a goat than a mouse,

Being led like a flock of sheep to another UN slaughter house.

 My Death

My Death

By

James Bredin

I hope Marion finds me dead in the year twenty forty two,
Out the backyard among the summer flowers out of view,
She’ll be ninety six by then and me dead at a hundred and five,
Up to that time, I hope we’re both very much alive.

My grandkids and their kids can come and wave good bye,
As I get buried in Scarborough Pine Hills Cemetery nearby,
Near Don Sargent and Otto Maier and a few others,
Lived nearby on Tansley Avenue as if we were brothers.

No big deal except that then, I won’t be around any more,
Long deleted memories, here and there and many foreign shores,
Because I’m not very religious and believe that that’s that,
I’m  finished and no one ever got a second kick at the cat.
